Save The Date

I went over to Tower Tattoos yesterday to talk to Monica about my peacock, discuss some loose ends and set a date to get it done. I was thinking that I might want it a little larger but when she placed it on my back it ended up fitting really well. It will start just where my bra strap hits my back and will go down past my waist and onto the upper part of my butt. She is also going to free hand some of the feathers around the sun so the two tattoos are incorporated, which I really like. Color wise I brought her several pictures of peacocks and peacock feathers so it will as realistic as possible so she will be using lots of greens, blues, purples and golds.

She couldn't give me an estimate of the price which scares me a little but I understand why she isnt able to do so. I figure it wont be going anywhere though so I am getting my moneys worth and I would rather pay more to make it really beautiful. She also told me it will take between 3-4 hours so unless I wimp out in the middle of it, it will be done in one sitting.

So if anyone is around on June 9th @ 4:30 and want to stop by, feel free, I could use the distraction. Yay, I am excited!

Well, she's gonna charge $100 an hour, so expect nothing less than $400.

when you get your hair cut, do you talk to the stylist?

i wonder about these sort of things because i talked a little to monica during my tat, and some during adam's. i feel awkward because they're stuck there, you're stuck there, why possibly make it worse w/conversation?

Ed I didnt get your comment until you talked about it this weekend but I agree, it is awkward. I am not big on small talk, in fact I am really quite bad at it. Generally I am quiet when I first meet people and I am going to be sitting there for 4 hours, probably more since she has to draw some of it free hand before she even starts. I will easily run out of things to say in half an hour so I am going to be relying on all of my lovely friends to entertain and converse with me.

They should have a tv or something on for people to watch. It would be rude to bring my ipod wouldnt it? I think I am more nervous about the 4 hours of sitting there with nothing to do then the pain. But then I feel the spot on my back where it is going and realize there isnt a lot of padding there so it is probably going to hurt a lot.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm pretty sure Monica knows what it feels like to be sitting in the chair.

She does well enough talking, but there are long stretches where she is concentrating and quiet and that's fine too.

It's ok to be around people and have quiet.

But we'll be there to make you laugh so you get a few wiggly lines in there.
