Forget the black hood and the scythe, the grim reaper is a cute furry cat...much creepier

So I found this article and I thought it was interesting. Apparantly there is a cat named Oscar who lives in a nursing home in Rhode Island that predicts the death of patients. It seems that Oscar will curl up next to patients and in at least 25 cases, those patients will pass away. Other than those instances of death, Oscar is aloof and not friendly with people. Obviously not a scientific study, but who knew the grim reaper was so cute.

Yeah, um, I could curl up next to a patient at a nursing home and then predict that they to will die. Let the cat into society at large and see if it holds.

Either that or this home has a high number of people who are fatally allergic to cat dander.

Yes there are many variables not taken into account. Test that death cat some more!

Man he is all over the news, I heard about him on the Today show and the NPR. I guess that's good that this is the only thing happening today!

I think it's sweet that he giving them comfort right before they die. He's no grim, he just has a big heart! (of course this is coming from a cat lover who swears hers knows when she is down and will cuddle up to give comfort....hahaah)

Animals are more perceptive than we give them credit for.

i've heard about similar things before. like, dogs can sniff out cancer.

so, maybe the cat smells something about the person.

or, maybe the cat sleeps around a lot of people.

old people die. that's what they do.
