I went over to Tower Tattoos yesterday to talk to Monica about my peacock, discuss some loose ends and set a date to get it done. I was thinking that I might want it a little larger but when she placed it on my back it ended up fitting really well. It will start just where my bra strap hits my back and will go down past my waist and onto the upper part of my butt. She is also going to free hand some of the feathers around the sun so the two tattoos are incorporated, which I really like. Color wise I brought her several pictures of peacocks and peacock feathers so it will as realistic as possible so she will be using lots of greens, blues, purples and golds.
She couldn't give me an estimate of the price which scares me a little but I understand why she isnt able to do so. I figure it wont be going anywhere though so I am getting my moneys worth and I would rather pay more to make it really beautiful. She also told me it will take between 3-4 hours so unless I wimp out in the middle of it, it will be done in one sitting.
So if anyone is around on June 9th @ 4:30 and want to stop by, feel free, I could use the distraction. Yay, I am excited!

Tattoo Update
When I got back to my truck after the gym yesterday I had a voicemail from Monica. She said that she had been sick and just got back to work last week so she hadnt even started it yet but was planning to in the next few days and she would give me a call when it was done. Although I still think she should have contacted me earlier and I have had to wait entirely too long already, I was satisfied that she at least let me know what was going on (thats all I really wanted in the first place).
I am going to give her another chance because I do think she will do a good job and I liked the initial very rough sketch that she did do...I am starting to get excited again:)

I Don't Mean To Bitch But....
Ok I am seriously getting perturbed by Monica now. I called yesterday and she wasn't there but was coming it at 4, so I asked if I could leave a message so she could call me so I wouldnt have to take a chance that she would be in the middle of a tattoo if I called back. I was very pleasant when I called and gave the receptionist my name and number and the tattoo I was getting and asked that Monica please give me a call to let me know what the current status with my drawing was. She never called me back. Tomorrow it will have been 3 weeks since she told me she would have it done and I have left her two messages that she hasnt returned.
Artist or not it is unprofessional and inconsiderate to ignore your client. I gave her my $50 deposit that I have a reciept for and she will be getting a lot more of my money when she actually does the tattoo but that apparantly doesnt mean much. I am to the point where I would rather go to someone else who will gee I dont know, communicate with me and let me know whats going on. I dont feel like she cares very much about me or the tattoo that I am getting and it makes me a little uncomfortable. If I had gone with just about anyone else, I would have a peacock on my back by now. It doesn't look like I would get my $50 deposit back because they have a non refundable deposit clause, but at least I could be comfortable with the person who is going to be permanately inking my skin. I am giving her a few more days and then I am done.
In other news the bachelorette party planning is going well. There is even a possibility that we might be taking a trip into Tower Saturday night. So if you see a big yellow stretch limo taxi with 13 drunk girls getting out of it, be afraid, be very afraid.

Tattoo Update
Well there is none. Monica said she would be calling me the middle of last week so I could come in and look at her drawing but I have yet to hear from her. I called Friday afternoon and left a message just in case they had my phone number down wrong and I still havent heard anything. Hmmph.

Tattoo Appointment Update
Yesterday I met with Monica at Tower Tattoos. It was a brief meeting, but it went well.
When I first got there I started flipping through her portfolio and I came across a familiar sight, a picture of Adams tattoo, prominently displayed.
Then when Monica came out I showed her my sketch and told her where I wanted to get it and she started to sketch some of her thoughts. The first thing she did was flip it so the peacock was facing in and not out, which went with the curve of my waist much better. Other than that she took my pictures I had for reference and told me she would have a drawing for me by the middle of next week. The picture she liked the best was the picture of the stained glass I posted last week which was also my favorite so it seems we are on the same page. After I approve of her work I wll make an appointment to get it done so I m looking at 2 weeks at the earliest before I get any ink done.
Monica seemed very cool but where is she from? I detected an accent but couldnt place it...
