I think it's funny that they sometimes ask how I spell my name, with a "c" or a "k", as if when the barista says it out loud it won't still sound like my name.
I went one time with my friend Joaquin, and while it is definitely not the easiest name to spell, his cup came out with "Waken" written on it.
The funny thing is that I think Starbucks does in fact spell names of patrons phonetically.
I was in there recently and the girl in front of me had an unusual name. When the dude asked for her name she offered up some spelling on it and he said "oh don't worry, we spell them phonetically"
However I didn't know that Kasey or Joaquin where unusual names.
Kasey not so much, I can kinda see why Joaquin might throw someone off though, especially when the pressure is on. I tend to blank on things like that. Shouldnt have been Wawkeen though?
I think now he usually says his name is "Bob" or something like that when he orders his Starbucks. It's easy to spell, and not that common anymore that it could be mistaken with someone else's drink.
Wow. No words for that.
ReplyDeleteAnd she gave you an empty cup!!!
