Cabin Trip

The cabin trip is this weekend so let's talk about it. I was thinking of leaving at around 7 on Friday and we will want to figure out car pooling since there isn't a lot of parking up there.

So food, ugh I hate figuring out food, we will need enough food for 1 dinner, 2 breakfeasts, at least 1 lunch and snacks. Suggestions?

  1. Here's what I've been craving for breakfast:

Scrambled eggs with some spicy sausage diced in and some cheese sprinkled on top.

I figure we could average that dish to three or four eggs per person and one or two sausages per person and then just make a couple batches depending on when people wake up. Plus a little fruit or something to go with, that's a breakfast. Just an idea.

  2. Are you also offering to make it?

  3. For sure! I'll just need a head count so I know how much of everything to buy.

Also, I'm thinking for the dinner that tri-tip would be yummy.

I think that's enough two cents for a dime already. Maybe by the end of the day I'll have put a dollar in. ;-)

  4. I appreciate the input and the offer to make breakfast (no spicy sausauge for me though please).

I like tri tip for dinner too, maybe with some grilled veggies, salad (I know someone makes a really kick ass pasta salad), and garlic bread always seems to do well.

Lunch we can just do sandwiches and get lunch meat, cheese, bread etc.

  5. Do we want to make a list of everything and have a shopping trip that we just split equally or try to divvy everything up amongst people?

  7. Let's just divy it up instead of making one person take care of it all.
Personally I am not a pancake fan but if thats what everyone else wants to do thats fine with me, I will just bring something for myself.

    Ok food we need:
    Tri tip (Ed)
    Veggies for Grill
    Salad (Carrie?)
    Garlic Bread

    Bread
    Lunch Meat
    Cheese
    Fixings for sams?

    Eggs
    Milk
    Sausage
    Fruit
    pancake batter?
    Syrup

    Smores stuff??
    Drinks

    Thats all I got.

  9. Great, sounds good, Brian is on lunch. And there will be mustard and mayo up there already.

I will bring fruit salad for breakfast Saturday and I will bring the smore stuff. I will also bring a snack but I am not sure what yet.

  15. Thats a good, easy idea mike. I like the ideas that don't require the use of a lot of dishes:)

If everyone is cool with that, Mike why dont you bring muffins, juice & garlic bread.

Ed and Heather why don't you guys bring the tri tip, veggies to grill and sodas.

And everyone and anyone can bring whatever snacks they want and their alcohol (score on the makers Carrie!).

Does that cover everything food wise?

Also car pool wise, I am willing to drive and I can take 3 additional people comfortably.

  16. I'm also going to bring some marinated chicken breasts because I'm not a huge fan of Tri-Tip I might also bring some bagels and cream cheese for breakfast.

  17. So, I'm assuming based on things I've seen here that:

    Kasey
    Mike
    Ed
    Heather
    Adam
    Carrie
    Brian

...is the count for the weekend? I figured I'd do my breakfast on Saturday morning so I should get enough supplies to cook for seven?

  18. Thats all I have confirmed and would be suprised if anyone else shows up. I sent sara a message and I told Nick (he has his son though) and I mentioned it to Joy and corin but they never said anything so I assume they arent coming either. So 7 is the count unless I hear from anyone else.

  20. I'm offering my car and/or driving services for the trip unless someone has something better.

I don't know how it'll do with three or four people and supplies, but I think it would make it. Otherwise, I'm also happy to drive anyone else's car if they don't feel like being behind the wheel.

  21. i am hoping to catch a ride with someone, whether it's kasey, adam, or someone else that is driving (brian or ed?) i just need to work out whether i'll be picked up at my place, or at my work (off the belmont circle).

  22. Mike I have no problem taking you and Adam if you and Carrie want to come with me then Brian, Ed and Heather can drive together and we will all be set. How does that sound?

    ReplyDelete
  23. kasey's plan sounds good. and, we can meet @ kaseys and then roll in a pack. a wolf pack.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well hot damn, Carrie is practicing her wolf pack howl! Either that or she is a ghost.

As far as meeting at my place goes I have no problem with that but it sounds like Mike needs to be picked up and I dont know where Adam and Carrie are going to be coming from and if they even want to park at my place, so what say you Mike and Adam?
